My name is Philip Smith-Eivemark. I love the written word and greatly respect its communicative power. Editing to enhance meaning and clarity of thought is a work of passion for me. As your editor, my goal is to assist you to communicate your written message clearly, concisely and accurately.
I have over twenty years of experience as a writer and editor in the business, magazine, and academic fields.
My educational background consists of a B.A. (Hons) in History from the Royal Military College of Canada, a B.Ed. in Adult Education from Brock University, a M.Div. from the Toronto School of Theology, a M.A. in Comparative Religions and a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion from the University of Toronto. As well, I have successfully completed An Introduction to Copy Editing course at Ryerson University. I am also a TESL certified ESL instructor with many years of teaching Advanced English to immigrants and working as a communication coach with professionally trained immigrants honing their written communication skills.
Finally, I am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association.
