A copy edit corrects spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax. My copy editing service also includes:
Consistency in spelling, hyphenation, numerals, fonts and capitalizations
Flagging inconsistencies and factually incorrect statements
Ensuring internal consistency
Making sure the document is structurally solid and logically ordered
Confirming transitions in the document are smooth
Rate: $6.00 CAD per page (one page = 250 words)
Proofreading
Proofreading, ideally, should only be done with an already edited manuscript. It consists of checks for spelling mistakes, typos, punctuation problems, capitalization errors, and awkward grammar.
